Gmail.com Thank You!

I was trying to send an email from Google mail, and in my email body I was informing the recipient that I have attached the documents. As I was in a hurry to send my email out, a pop up message prompted me tat I have no actual attachments.

I haven’t been wowed in a long time but this one has exceeded all my expectations. That is service right there. When the computer checks for the human error. That is why we have computers, to spare us the headaches. And this time the Googlers  understood a necessity and how to implement it, they really did a great job. It is not the first time when I sent an email without attaching the documents. I have to thank the person who had the idea, the person that stood by it, and the people that put the code together.

Thank you!

I only played Diablo 2 and I loved it. After I finished it, I went back and started a few different characters. I was so hooked on it, that I even started looking for cheats and I found some good ones out there. With these cheats I could edit the hero’s profile and jack it up. I made one of my characters so powerful, that the game started crashing. The weapons and armors had dozens of sockets filled with  amulets that had all possible attributes, that’s how much I played that game.

One of my friends mentioned it, and I started thinking about the third version. I found plenty of material on YouTube and it just looks awesome. I just can’t wait for it to come out. Maybe I’ll pull a “Cartman” one. Get frozen until the game release, the bad part is that there is no release date and my cryogenic experience would be indefinite. This game was so good that even my girlfriend that hated all games, period, got so hooked to it that she was losing nights over it to finish it. This was the only game she ever played. So it is that good.
Here is a game play preview, and of course there are plenty online.

Stock Market Bid and Ask.

I have been trying to find all over the internet something about the bid on the stock market. Most of the information available was on what bid is, or its definition. I really didn’t care what it was, what I really cared for was how it was formed. We have all these people, and institutions buying stocks or bidding for stocks, how is the bid formed? Is it a mean of all the input prices, or is it formed depending on other factors?

Another thing is that I was watching some stock that was around $.25 and all of a sudden someone buys 100 measly shares at .28 how is that possible? This was not the type of stock that was heavily traded, it was maybe like 2 -3 transactions per minute. I actually tried once to buy some stock at a higher price than what it was going for and it didn’t work. And of course I started thinking Conspiracy or pump and dump action. Buying 100 shares for $25 when the price for trade is $10 is really not worth the effort unless that would raise the price of overall bid and ask in such a way that the people that initiate the spike gain at the expense of the other people that lose. So if anyone wants to be kind and explain these two processes of “how is the bid and Ask formed” and how is “the price jumping”, please do so for us the non-initiated.

Court day

In January of this year, 2008 I was pulled over and I failed to produce the insurance card. I did have insurance but I just could not find it. After I was issued a ticket I looked and found the insurance card. I filled the paperwork and I received a court date. So this Thursday I went to court (my first time) and observed the action there. Pretty interesting activity.

There the police officers and their clientèle dispute the summons. Every citizen was trying diverse methods to get away with their misdemeanors. For few of them it worked but for mostly it didn’t. It didn’t because this officer, such a miserable person was he, that even his colleagues were amused of his overzealous diligence to ruin people’s day or year, depending on the case. While the officer was describing his evidence, I was looking around to scope the other officers. Among them there was a detective. I was thinking to myself that this guy has an education and I wasn’t expecting to see him issuing a ticket in traffic. I immediately categorized him as the other miserable one. I even went further and made him into the type of of person that became a detective because he was over bullied and in his frustration he went that far and he became a detective not just a regular cop.

Boy was I wrong because this man was did exactly what was necessary. I would’ve done the same thing in the situation that he described. The detective issued a ticked to this guy that basically tried to use a Merge as an exit. So the defendant made like a U turn into upcoming traffic. And of course he got a ticket. For the second case that the detective had he “forgot his notes”. Those two instances proved me wrong on my hasty opinion.

My officer also was an upstanding man because he wasn’t trying to make my day miserable or anyone else’s. He also did not have his notes for some cases.

Now returning to that miserable officer that after couple of tickets I even memorized his favorite location where he gives tickets, mostly for speeding. Probably he is so dissatisfied with his life’s achievements, that now he is trying to overexert his misery on anyone he can. His favorite location is somewhere on Bruckner boulevard in the Bronx NY where he gives mostly speeding tickets on a 35 mile zone where perhaps is very easy for a driver to go to fifty without endangering anyone. But the law states 35 and this miserable man really wants to share his misery with anyone he can. This officer came there upholding the law so diligently that it sickened everyone. But he was flood, in his overachieving stance that he was trying to portray, came with a huge hole in his left sock above the heal. If you respect yourself, your job, and want respect back, you should care about your appearance in every aspect not only job wise.

My advice is that if you meet this officer somewhere in the Bronx issuing you a ticket and he wears a mustache, it might be the same miserable man I’ve seen in court. There are very slim ads that you can win in court against this guy, because he hates his life so much that he makes up for it in giving people tickets. I have heard him describing his actions to the judge. He is very observing and he doesn’t leave anything out. He calculates and take notes on everything. There is another issue that I am not sure if would be true or not but this miserable man was of “white” descent and every client of his was one minority or another. Perhaps the worst day of his life is when someone defeats him in court.

I guess the sole purpose of some people’s existence is JUST to make the rest of us miserable.

PS: Drive Safely.

I am taking this course in anthropology and I found out some interesting things about all life on earth.

First off all life on earth plants included have DNA and is transferable. That means that if you would take a gene from a plant and put into a rat, that rat will start producing the same types of proteins or enzymes as the plant. So far I did not see or hear that has been done to any non embryo animal. I did see a test done with lab rats that as embryos they either added the genes from a glowing fish or they just activated the gene. Whatever they did was interesting because the live rats were glowing in the dark. Pretty cool ha?

About DNA

Is also called a double helix, looks like a spiraling ladder that’s why the name. Three steps of the ladder form a codon, each codon codes for an amino acid. So you got it, ladder, three ladder steps = one codon, one codon = one amino acid.

Each codon can contain at each end one of the four bases: adenine (abbreviated A), cytosine (C), guanine (G) and thymine (T). These bases act lets say like magnets, each one can only work with only one from the rest of three. So that means that A connects only with T and C only with G and of course G with C only and T with A only. If IF A connects lets say G that is an error and therefore nonfunctional amino acids are produced. As for example colorblindness and other more severe or lethal conditions. Amino acids form proteins most of the human amino acids are produced by living cells and very few out of a maximum of 20 are gotten trough nutrition process. Only a few numbers but when you are to combine chains of amino acids you get all sorts of proteins. The number of possible combinations is huge somewhere in the trillions.

Think of this the DNA sits in the cell’s nucleus and is wrapped tightly in form of chromatids. But if you were to unwrap it, it would be 6 feet long from something that is not visible to the naked eye .

I find this interesting because I am studying computer science. Digital electronics work as clockwork and really fast. A single human cell has 30,000 chemical reactions per second. A large part of those reactions are producing proteins. The DNA opens up (Unzips) and the RNA enters the nucleus and is matched base to base. Every A with every U (Uracil) and Every C with every G. Yes RNA has Uracil instead of Thymine. Now after everything is matched. The “RNA configured by the DNA” leaves the nucleus and goes to the ribosomes where the production of amino acids starts. the ribosomes work exactly as an assembly line. You insert the DNA on one end each codon is read and an amino acid is produced for every three codons and conected to the chain until a stop codon is met. Then the ribosomes continue coding for the next gene in the chain until next stop. Each gene in the chain codes for a protein composed of a chain of amino acids. No wonder that Mr Ford invented the assembly line. It was in our cells. The interesting part is that he invented the assembly line before the discovery of the DNA and the ribosomes’ functionality. I guess he was very in tune with his ribosomes, they spoke to him…

So DNA works like computers or even better said, computers work as DNA. Think of this, DNA produces errors just as computers. In computers we use redundancy (adding extra bits to the chain will tell if an error has been produced) to protect against errors the same with DNA. Different codons code for the same amino acid thats why 64 of them for only 20 amino acids, therefore the redundancy. Computers work too as chains of ones and zeros and with some mathematics you get all the neat stuff that you generally see today in PC’s. All the activity in a cell has to happen fast and correct the same with computers. Imagine when you go to your ATM and waiting like 10 minutes for a simple transaction and or getting the wrong amount, or getting an erroneous transaction and later find your checking account empty.

The difference is that computers use only two values, ones and zeros whereas DNA uses four values. So, 0 – 1 for PC’s and 0,1,2,3 for DNA. I was reading articles that DNA can be used to build computers with. I always found this interesting but now knowing more about both, I have to tell you that we lack the logic operations to work with four values. Research is being conducted to develop the logical operations that will enable us to use four values but research usually means lots of failures and very little progress, therefore we don’t know yet. Returning the the two values the literally mean “yes” and “no” or “True” or “False”. If we were to have four what would the other two mean. This is boolean algebra that was developed by George Boole.

So for anyone that did not know, living organisms are the most precise functional entities we ever laid eyes on.

So this post is supposed to be under the games section, so lets see if this thing will appear under there or not.
