Hangover

One of the benefits of the leaving close to the woods are the crisp mornings and nights. And it is so good to experience that crispness especially when you’re recovering from a hangover. But one bad thing that it could happen is to have to wake up to take a leak. And you wake up all numb and dizzy from the pills and the alcohol and you just go. On your way there you just want to return and you hope that you’ll be able to go back to sleep again. Well in this case I couldn’t. Remember those crisp nights, well someone decided to turn on the heat and that was the last thing I needed. And just like that I could not fall back to sleep, and I needed it, badly. Now I am just trying to flush it out of the system, and it is such a slow day.

I came to a realization, there are plenty of us that get acquainted with alcohol. But there are only a select few that have put alcohol in check. The rest of us, we’re just trying and dying like fruit flies. My friend over here is nauseous. Man he is suffering, his face and mine are expressing defeat and hopelessness in the face of this great foe. The mighty alcohol that very few have had the ability to tame.

Maybe we should find joy in spectating this difficult sport.

Contact the System Administrator

Have you ever got this error …Contact your system Administrator?
What am I supposed to do when I am supposed to be the administrator? I would really want to ask the guys that usually put that help tip there.

Just the other day I was playing around for the first time with Solaris, and I was doing something that I had no clue what it was for. Furthermore in my adventure I got an error that told me to contact the system administrator. Well big bummer, I am the only system administrator, and I was trying to learn the damn OS, but it doesn’t include little help on the actual issue I had.
I am glad I did not get the “Contact System Administrator” when I was adding a windows 2008 domain controller to an existing 2003 domain. It just told me that I had to run some other software on the existing domain controllers.

Anyway , I just wanted to share my thing about this “Contact the System Administrator” because lately I’ve being seeing that a lot, and it pisses me off when I’m it, and I have no clue what to do next. Maybe all the developers out there will start putting some actual information why would the issue happen not the same old story.

It is a crime to Overdraft

That should be the title of a major awareness campaign for people that don’t want to end up in jail by over drafting their bank accounts. Overdrafting should be put on the same list with drunken driving campaigns and the schedule one narcotics. In addition posters and signs should be placed in subways and train stations because it is already treated like a crime.

This morning on my way to work I saw in the elevator that the US banks are going to make approximately 35 billion dollars on overdraft fees.

It is news like these that make me believe that the whole economy and recession was just a scam designed or just advertised by the few so they can become wealthier. It seems that the overdraft fees alone in US can rebuild an entire small country. Seeing this little news made me more inquisitive to the matter and I found out some stats from FDIC about the overdraft programs. Browsing through the FDIC literature I figured out that overdraft programs are in place just to make a shit load more money for the banks. No one really explains why the overdraft programs are in place.

I can speculate that the reason for overdraft fines and fees is the cold hard cash. Is not that the bank has to go to so much trouble because of us overdrafting our accounts. There is no extra burden on the bank or the software that makes the transaction. The software just has to trap the error and return a message. The other party then has to accept the fact that there is no money and they can slap a late fee. But the thing that is outrageous is the fact that your own bank also slaps you a fine.

Another funny thing is that all these institutions are doing all their business with machines designed to remember everything, and not miss a thing. We ARE HUMANS not machines, our life is supposed to be fun and the machines are there to support us not to compete against us. All these institutions are using these machines or the technology to control us like we are some kind of outlaws. We are not outlaws, and it should be outlawed for any institution to use technology in competition with human beings, especially when this technology was designed and built for automations, tasks that humans weren’t designed for. Our brains are not designed trough their nature to be automatic and never forget about things or chores. It is understandable to use anything to compete against some form of outlaws but not against civilians.

My bank is supposed to be my friend, not slap me with a fine because I forgot about my money. If someone asks what will happen if everyone will overdraft? Nothing, I say. Because they already know that they will be making money out of it and there will NOT be some cataclysmic system meltdown like they are trying to sell it as. No wonder that we see all these nice fat bonuses to all these CEOs CFOs and whatever other acronyms are out there for money hungry whores (MHW).

Lately I have been deploying a lot of PCs at work. Before deployment every PC has to be updated. So of course among the important updates we also find internet Explorer 8. Every time I have to disable that update from installing. And I am doing that for good reasons. When Microsoft decided to climb from IE6 to 7 many installed it and they all got burned because it was full of bugs. Now I don’t know who and how MS decided to Put IE8 as an important update. But what I would really like to do, is to meet the man or the team responsible for that “brilliant” idea.

Sometimes I am trying to think the way he reached the conclusion to actually add IE8 to the important update section. There is multiple versions running in my head, and I will share them with the few that might stumble upon this.
One is the like this: Since IE7 was such a shitty browser the enlightened at Microsoft had a meeting, because, let’s assume IE was losing ground to other browsers and that would be unacceptable because this could lead to an eventual crash of MS itself, BOHOHOHooowaaaahh (this trying to be a ghostly scary sound). HOW? Well it’s complicated but let’s fable that Mozilla or some other company that already has a kick ass browser out there comes up with an OS that is going to revolutionize the OS world. Let’s take it to another level and say that it will be like the hero that saves the nation from the oppressing oligarchy… LOL. Then because IE7, everyone will say enough of this shit, we want the hero OS with their kick ass browser that never has problems. And there it is the beginning of the MS’s doom. If you look MS is actually giving freely windows 7 to people that purchased windows Vista. IE8 come to save their ass from IE7 blunder. To me this looks like a big cover up, or mass memory erasure. Because is recently after Win Vista, and it reminds of the Windows 98 and 98 second edition. That is the problem with these people, they are unreliable from one version to another. And that is not that appealing. I remember in the good old days when shit worked flawlessly and companies stuck with their reputation. Yea the good old days. Bs I ‘m just messin, I don’t know shit about the good old days I’m not that old.

Another idea is that the managers of windows update and whoever else, gathered and brainstormed. And as a practical joke they said how can we mess with the users? And some guy said: I know we can put IE8 as an important update. My assumption is that IE8 has to be buggy as hell too. Wasn’t IE7? What can we expect with IE8? So they said, brilliant, just brilliant and that is how IE8 became an Important Update and I have to disable that poop every time when I update a new computer.

Now my question to the people at Windows Update is: WTF were you thinking? I am sick and tired of people making decisions for other people and ME. Putting IE8 as an important automatic update is a matter of preference not a matter of security. If they really care about our safety, and not their pockets, they should’ve created a patch with the security features, not a whole new god damn edition of Internet Explorer.

There should be a universal or federal LAW out there that strictly regulates when the version change is allowed. Something like when more than 50% of the features on original software have changed then it is allowed for a version change from 6.1 to 6.2 or something like that. A major version revision from IE6 to IE7 should NOT just be, because it has added tabbed browsing capabilities 5 years later after everybody else, and they still didn’t get it right. IE7 was horrible. The major revision should be after a 90% – 100% change of the original product. And now they add the IE8 to Important Updates, OH HELL NO.

By the way, I am still using IE6 and it is still alive is kicking.

I do not understand why the news had to criticize the people for taking the money dropped from the speeding sports vehicle. That news would have been news worthy only if the news crew would have told the story from highway chase, and drugs point of view. Instead they covered mostly the people that took the money. The video and the news commentator let free some innuendos about the bad will of the people that are taking the money.

Firstly they want to point to the lack of honor and nobility of the people that took the money of the highway, or to their lack of morality, and to their greed. I think the news crew and most of the news crews are subservient, because they only disclose easy news about defenseless people, and they don’t pick real challenging matters to disclose. And of course it becomes very hard for a person to fight them back because that person has to dedicate extra time to fight back. Whereas for the news crew it’s their job and they get paid regardless if they get it right or not. They cowardishly cover only convenient news and easy news. I thought that the press was supposed to be one of the checks and balances, but it appears that in the last hundred years had become more convenient to news media to just stay out of trouble. In addition is it very convenient to filter out all challenging news and cover only the non problematic news. By non problematic news I mean the news that would not create any problem to the actual news outlet or news crew.

After they covered the people that took the money, the news crew turned the attention to one lady that actually stopped in the middle of the highway to collect money risking her life. First of all, there are plenty of people out there that risk their life going to work daily because their jobs involve risks. Why they do it, to get a paycheck at the end of the week. The same with this lady she took an extra risk for some extra cash. Therefore news crews stop showing me nonsense news that has nothing of great importance. The people that took the money deserved it. They pay after all for all the institutions that work from their taxes, and these institution fuck up constantly therefore consider this a pay cut. Moreover if drugs are that bad then the money should be considered as a form payback due to drug inflicted injuries. Isn’t that fair enough?

If these news outlets would like to disclose real news, they should pick some great subjects where they have no allies from nowhere and they would still prevail. Something bigger than Watergate, because it was easy to cover, since the other major political party was the victim, that is a strong ally. And of course it would be very convenient to have news worthy subjects of massive impact that can be reported on without any challenge or opposition from nowhere.

So news outlets grow some balls and cover some real news and investigate why the towers did went down. Yea the 9/11 towers. Because from all the informing material out there, it seems that there was some sabotaging done to the towers. At the beginning of the ordeal anchors called as they saw it, demolition by implosion. After a few people got discredited and lost their jobs for the demolition by implosion, everybody else got quiet, including the news outlets. So again if you want to point out of the peoples honor and good morals, first look in your back yard, you cowards!

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.” — David Rockefeller

Preferential censorship?

I saw a commercial on TV that was intended to raise money for cancer, and there were showing children that either had cancer, or they were waring good makeup. Anyway, by their facial expressions they looked like they were on chemo. Since we are so protective of children, why would we show children dying of cancer to other children? Why isn’t  this type of commercial blocked? Some sexual content and games aren’t allowed to children of certain ages because, supposedly are going to what turn them into murderers, sex offenders and rapists. Isn’t that stupid? Because this way we just turn them into neurotic and panicky. They can easily assume that they can get cancer, right? I mean how would any of you feel if your child all of a sudden will start asking “Mom/Dad what if get cancer?”, how would all you answer? Would you still be OK with that type of commercial on TV? What if some of these children become more inquisitive and they can’t get over that idea?

Another thing that bothers me are those banner ads in NYC that seem to have filled the city. These are some banner ads of skinless people, and anyone can see the tendons and fat and the muscles, I think they are ads for some TV Show on History Channel. I personally can’t stand that. I might have an issue. But I think that type of banner ad is even worst than that of a man or woman advertising lingerie. So all you child protectors should be more weary about these things.

As a conclusion I think all this child drama is just major BS of frustrated parents.

My Economic Rant

Over the last few months we’ve seen the economy plummet down rampantly. Moreover, big, prestigious corporations crumbled like toothpicks under a car’s weight. These companies weren’t new and inexperienced, they had decades of experience and they still crumbled. 6 or 7 years back AIG was rated to AAA as one of the strongest corporations, so on and so forth. Now it seems that the Fed is pumping rescue packages in AIG like cans on a conveyor belt. In addition everyone gets a severance package. What a nice slap on the wrist. And yea, mostly are the upper income employees that get the severance packages. The other ones just go home and pack, because soon they are going to get evicted or foreclosed.

Why aren’t we average Joes Schmoes getting stimulus packages when we get fired, so we could get by until we get back on our feet. That would work nicely because we don’t have to save for harder times, the same as the big corporations. Spend it all baby. Wouldn’t that be a lot more fairly? So when everyone when gets fired, they should apply to the Fed for stimulus packages to cover rent, food and spa treatments, to try and alleviate the stress of losing the job. Perfect isn’t it? Moreover the Fed should NOT say that we should have saved, because they obviously fucked up when they didn’t made a law to provision these corporations to invest let’s say a well calculated percentage in the Fed to have as backup for these exact speciffic situations.

It seems that someone messed up big time. And I still don’t understand why these, basically loan sharks, try to put more burdens on the borrowers. They say that they take a greater risk lending to someone of a lower income. But I said it before, either you lend them at a fare rate, or don’t lend them at all. The poor shouldn’t be paying double for a house whe a richer person would pay only half for the same house. what king of logic is that anyway? If these loan sharks would be arrested and put in jail then everyone else would think twice before they would predatory lend to anyone.

Why these great (not so much now) corporations didn’t have a backup plan? I mean there should be a reserve of a certain percentage that should be invested in the Fed at a very low interest. Or as larger interest as it gets, but no, these blood thirsty ticks invested everything on mortgages to bleed the low income population, and now they even had the nerve to foreclose them. But I guess that didn’t work that well because they kind of foreclosed themselves. The bad part is that all those rich bastards are still doing well and the Fed is pumping money. And the foreclosed people are on the street. Maybe a great lesson for these fancy economists would be to not get hired, just like convicts. What I mean is that when convicts get out of jail they get nothing, or all the shitty possible jobs. Maybe if all these AIG, Lehman Brothers, and all the others will get the same treatment it would teach everyone a lesson. If you come to analyze it is fair, you fucked up and now you have to redeem yourself, just like a convict, go and start flipping burgers at McDonalds. This way a newer generation will come. They will be not as experienced but also they will less likely to take the same risks, therefore it evens out.

Wouldn’t it be fair? I would love to see a CEO end up filling gas or flipping burgers. And I am not talking about flipping his own burgers on weekends, and filling up his tank. I am talking about of seeing one CEO being foreclosed out of his mansion, and ending down in the gutter, because I am sick of all this fancy economics, which favors the only the upper income people.
